In the morning you can visit Mantua, beloved destination for its human dimension. After the visit you will have time at leisure and the opportunity to taste the local specialities in the cosy atmosphere of a restaurant. In the afternoon, you reach Grazie, a little fishing hamlet, enclosing the Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Graces, worth a visit and afterwards take a boat trip along the Mincio .

Arrival in Mantua and meet with the guide for the sightseeing of the historical centre. The Ducal Palace and the Basilica of St. Andrew, are just the most important buildings, but there is much more to consider in the medieval heart of the city like the Town Hall , the Rotonda of St. Lorenzo. You could also consider other monuments like the Renaissance Palazzo Te, Palazzo d’Arco or the baroque Theatre “Scientifico”.
Time at leisure and an opportunity for lunch, to taste the famous local specialities.
In the afternoon, just 8 kilometres from Mantua, in at the hamlet of Grazie you start a boat-excursion along the Mincio, that offers you many interesting views. Sailing the river, along its channels, in an extraordinary natural environment, you will be surprised by the variety of the local birds, plants and flowers. The highlight of the trip in this Nature Reserve in the warm summer months is the natural flowering of the oriental lotus, unique here in Europe, spread in such astonishing dimension. Here you can end your day very relaxed after cruising the natural splendours of the Mincio River.
After the boat-trip visit of the Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Graces, erected in 1400, literally covered with ex voto, both of great aesthetic merit and of humble folk origin, like a series of large natural looking statues, made of cloth and sheets glued together in layers – papier maché that testify the miraculous virtues of the Madonna.
